Viewpoints
- Anjanvel Lighthouse
A historic lighthouse offering panoramic views of the Arabian Sea. Perfect for sunrise and sunset photography.

A scenic fort with stunning coastal views and a rich historical backdrop.

A cliff surrounded by water on three sides! High chances to see dolphins as well. A short 10 min hike from the road. Park near the lighthouse.

An amazing spot where you can have a full view of Guhagar beach.

A serene spot to enjoy a bird’s eye view of Are Village, nestled amidst greenery.

A peaceful temple setting with a viewpoint offering unparalled views of the Arabian Sea. A short 15 min uphill trek from the road. A really quiet and unexplored spot.

Beaches
- Baug Beach
The closest beach to us! Clean white sands, calm, quiet and home to a high number of Olive Ridley turtle nestings. Baby turtles are released from the conservancy in summer, from March till May.

The main beach of Guhagar, with coconut water shops and lots of crowds!

A serene beach, with much calmer waters than the rest of Guhagar. A lot of seagulls here in the winter.

A small black sand beach with stunning landscapes and fewer crowds.

A beautiful white sand beach with crystal clear waters and a calm bay. Perfect for swimming (if you know to swim in the sea).

An small fishing village and beach with a jetty that juts out into the sea making for a dramatic setting.

Local Temples
- Ashtavane Temple
A revered temple surrounded by dense forest. Perfect for quiet and meditation.

An ancient Shiva temple nestled in Are Village, with old wooden architecture. Just a 10 min walk from us via the riverside shortcut.

In-House Activities
At Raan Guhagar, enjoy these in-house activities during your stay:
- Swimming (free): Use our in-house swimming pool from early morning till 10 pm. Please help us maintain hygiene and enter the pool with swimwear only and take a shower before and after you use the pool.
- Permaculture Farm Tour (free): Learn about sustainable farming and permaculture on our in-house organic farm. Catch hold of Mohit if you spot him running around or request the reception team to fix a tour.
- Carrom and board games (free): Find them in the activity centre or yoga shala!
- Table tennis (free): In the yoga shala!
- Treks and Trails (currently free): Ask our reception team about the possibility of a guided trail around the village.
- Waterfall visits (with a local rickshaw): Ask our reception team about the possibility of a guided waterfall or natural pond visit (only in the monsoon). You must go with a local in their rickshaw who knows the spot, we cannot send you by yourself.
- Cycle Rentals (paid): Please check with the reception team regarding the availability of cycles. Rental timings are for 24 hours only, from 10 am to 10 am.
- Kayaking (November to March – paid): Have a chill kayaking session on the waters of the Are river. Please request Bahadur or anyone from the reception team to show you where the kayaks are. Please protect the kayak and paddles from rocks in shallow water.
