Raan in Marathi, our local language, means wild – a word that has unfairly gained a negative connotation of being out of place, unusual or even uncivilised. This is because we humans have started seeing ourselves as separate from the wild. We wish to bridge this very gap by experimenting, observing and re-building a sustainable way of life within the wild, without abandoning a few modern comforts we have come to live with.
Further, we facilitate an exchange of traditional knowledge with those who seek it. We believe that sustainable ecotourism practices will help in the conservation and revival of the Konkan’s natural splendours and cultural legacy, while also creating economic opportunities in a region suffering from widespread urban migration.
As an eco-backpacker hostel, are a vibrant hub where individuals from diverse backgrounds converge to share, learn, and grow. If you’re eager to collaborate on retreats, volunteer, or explore new ideas, reach out to us over Instagram.
